Am I allowed to use a purchased reference in the exam?
Yes. VCE rules permit notes from any source, including commercially available materials, provided the physical format rules are met: one securely bound volume for maths, and one folded A3 sheet or two bound A4 sheets for physics. Always check the current VCAA examination rules before exam day.
Which exams can I bring it into?
Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics: Examination 2 (technology-active). General Mathematics: both Examination 1 and Examination 2. Physics: the end-of-year examination, in the A3 or two-A4 format.
How should I bind it?
Print single- or double-sided, then spiral bind, comb bind or staple securely along the spine. Officeworks does spiral binding in minutes. For physics, bind the two A4 sheets together with tape, or print onto one A3 and fold it.
Can I add my own notes to it?
Absolutely, and you should. Every reference includes ruled note space, and you can annotate any page. The best bound reference is one you have practised with all year.
